In its efforts to invest in the Gambians abroad, the Islamic Republic of the Gambia has purchased a 4,000 square feet storey-building to house its Embassy in Washington DC, USA. The Embassy has been renting their previous location for a long period of time despite the constant increase in rental properties and in the USA Capital.
The over a million-dollar property is solely owned by the Gambia government and is expected to create a huge cut back in spending in the future and guarantees maximum security for its staff and information.
Many believe that this is a wise and timely move from the Gambian government to invest in its citizens living in a Country which claims to be one of its best allies in West Africa.
Commenting on the development, His Excellency, Ambassador Sheik Omar Faye, thanked His Excellency Sheikh Professor,DR. Alh. Yahya A.J.J Jammeh for investing in the future of Gambians abroad, adding that this will go a long way in helping them served the Gambian people. According to the Gambian diplomat, the benefits attached to this building owned by the Gambian government are immeasurable. He used the occasion to once again remind Gambians about the President’s call to invest in their country and help in the development process. He renewed his stance to support His Excellency President Jammeh and his government to make sure that his achievements are beyond expectation.

Since the coming of H.E Ambassador Faye and his team of dedicated workers, Gambians in the U.S.A have witnessed major improvements in the way their needs are handled. His open-door policy has transformed the Embassy over the years into what Gambians can finally be proud of.
